In the days before Alpen-KlangRausch and at the same venue, the Koglerhof in Ternberg a Dance&Music-Summercamp takes place.
About 18 hours of teaching in the three days from Monday to Wednesday, followed by one day off leading directly into the Alpen-KlangRausch weekend.
As the number of participants is limited please register the sooner the better.

Dance class

In this dance class the participants dive into three musical styles performed live by three musicians: Folkdans in swedish tradition, balfolk and traditionell dance in the Alps.
Switching between the dance styles allows to experience the differences as well as the common ground.
The unique concept and the teaching methods provide that beginners as well as experienced dancers to develope their dance repertoire side by side, to by practicing the parallels and contrasts in its fundaments as well as in its subtleties, starting from ones personal existing knowledge and experience. Music class

parallel with the dance class a music class is offered focussed on playing for dance.
The teachers are Hermann Haertel, Hermann Fritz und Sheshti Johansson (SE) so the same musicians that also will play for the dance classes. The three are higly reputated as teachers in their musical styles, and combine their knowledge on field recordings, historical music scores and living traditions with the passion to play for dancing, to improvise in exchange with the dancers and to explore. ​Further details







Dance class

The movements and materials learned in the class are usefull in all kinds of dance.

By dancing, looking at the interaction between music and dance, and by reflecting and talking new experiences and know how about dancing get created. Practicing wil be individually and in groups.

The dance class is open for everyone who is interested. Participation is possible without dance partner. All teachers at least speak english and german.
 

The teachers

Anton Hacker
Dancer & double bass player. Visiting many folk dance festivals throughout Europe, participating, teaching and playing music in defferent formations in many workshops.
Some years ago he got linked with the swedish dancing in general, and the teaching style and methods of Andreas Berchtold (SE) in special. Finally he studied swedish dance at the Eric-Sahlström-Institutet in Sweden with Andreas Berthold and Ami Dregelid.

Wanda Leben
Dancer, Musician. Born and grewn up in Kärnten/Carinthia/Koroška. Lives in Vienna since 2007, from where she travels to follow her fascination for traditional music and dance.
Creating her Style from the wealth of experience of travelling Europes uncountable dance floors. Her attention is focussed on inprovisation in folk dance the connection between music and dancers and between the dancers.
As a musician she is among other projects playing with Hermann Fritz and Angelika Hudler in 'De Ugrådn'.
 
Simon Wascher
Grew up wit folk dance as a family tradition in Kremsmünster, Oberösterreich/Upper Austria, today lives in Wien/Vienna.  Professional musician and dancer since 1995. The focus as a dancer is in european traditional dance improvisation like "Volkstanz", "Bal Folk", Csardas, Polska. One special interest of his are the sources and traditions in Austria and the german speaking parts of Europe. 
Some of his Teachers in traditional dance were Volker Derschmidt, Franz Wolf, Erasmus Betz, Gertrud Prem, Raimund Sobotka, Andreas Berchtold, Eric und Didier Champion, Eszter and Béla Ónodi.

Welcome are all musicians who are open to playing together with fiddles and who are interested in playing by heart.

Hermann Fritz and Hermann Haertel will teach in English and German, Sheshti Johansson im Englisch.

The teachers

Hermann Fritz

Fiddle. Herman Fritz, being "Ländlergeiger" (Landler-fiddler) und ethnomusicologist plays a special repertoire: great melodies - ear worms - from field recordings and handwritten colletions. His fiddle style is influenced by the art of the old "Ländlergeiger", especially by Sepp Stadlmann (1921–2000), and by descriptions of playing practice of the 18th and 19th century dance musicians.  Sauschneider, Hermann Fritz Banda

Hermann Haertel

Fiddle. Prefers to play for dancing and likes a lot to dance also. He combines knowledge on historical dance musicians music manuscripts with todays traditions and practice in Europe and forms it into an original traditional improvised dance music.
He learned to play the fiddle in his family, studied fiddle in Graz, at many festivities, music gatherings ant journeys throughout Europe. He plays with Duo Haertel Wascher, Trio WHA, Tanzhausgeiger, Hermann Fritz Banda u.a.
One special interest of his are improvisational elements by the dancers as part of the dance music like Dudeln (singing dance melodies without text), Påschen (collective rhythmical hand clapping), Trestern (feetperussion)and Platteln.

Sheshti Johansson

Fiddle. Well known in Sweden and abroad as soloist as well as for playing fiddle with the band Triller. She was awarded the title „Riksspelman" a generally recognized badge of mastery for Swedish folk musicians, and is a also a wonderful dancer. www.sheshti.se www.triller.se
